6 Methods to Reduce Stress

There are a LOT of things going on in the world right now that may cause major stress in our lives. These big things are very real, but it’s how we react to stress that can have a huge impact on our health and well-being. Here are some powerful methods that you can easily add to your daily life to help cultivate a more positive mindset when it comes to stress:

MEDITATION:
Strive for mindfulness, starting with just 5 minutes a day. There are many online guided meditations to help as you begin this practice.

JOURNALING:
Write about your successes, hopes, goals, and dreams. Focus on what you are grateful for, and the positive aspects of your life.

GENTLE YOGA:
Yoga can relieve nervous tension in your muscles and joints – try this right before bed to help you settle into a good night of sleep.

SOCIAL CONNECTION:
Spend time (in person) with positive and loving people. Focus on genuine friendships and set boundaries for anyone with toxic energy.

REFRAMING:
Ask yourself “Why is this happening FOR me?” (vs. “TO me”). Look at the situation with a more positive viewpoint.

TAKE A ‘NEWS FAST’:
Take a break from watching the news and spending time on social media to limit stressful information overload.
